Iowa has accepted a bid to play in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 30, school officials said Tuesday.
The Hawkeyes (6-6) will face a Big 12 opponent. According to bowl officials, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Kansas State are the likeliest candidates.
Iowa will be making its third appearance in the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio. Its 2001 win over Texas Tech drew the second-largest crowd in Alamo history.
